Athens Olympic Games, Opening and Closing Ceremonies

Head Systems Technician
Athens Olympic Stadium

Official website of the Olympic Movement

Due to time restrictions, I was only able to do 3 weeks of the 2004 Athens Olympics, 1 week prior to the Opening Ceremony, and the two weeks up to the Closing Ceremony. I was not directly involved in the RF side of the event here, Audio Technica was the official sponsor for radio mics, and although asked to evaluate the technical side of the equipment, was not involved in its setup.

Likewise, setup of the PSM transmitters and antennas was done by P.A. People of Sydney, but due to technical difficulties were limited in the performance of the systems. I took on the capacity of systems tech, looking after diagnosis and repair of mostly field of play systems, and the rehearsal systems at K2, the off site venue.
